Studio E – A Celebration of '70s Art, Music & Disco

Get Ready to Party Like It’s 1979 – This Thursday at the Everson Museum

We’re teaming up with the Everson Museum of Art for a night that promises to be one of the most fabulous throwbacks Syracuse has ever seen. On Thursday, March 27 from 6:00–9:00 PM, step into the mirrorball-lit world of Studio E: A Night of Art, Music & Disco – an unforgettable celebration of the sights, sounds, and cultural power of the ‘70s.

Whether you lived through the disco era or just admire its unstoppable energy, this event is for you. Inspired by the Everson’s exhibitions It Came from the '70s and Making American Artists, Studio E shines a spotlight on the LGBTQ+ and Black trailblazers who shaped the music and culture of disco, house, and funk. This is more than a party – it’s a tribute to the artists, dancers, and dreamers who changed the game.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Nonstop Grooves – DJ Shaykey will keep the dance floor alive with classic disco, funk, and house tracks

  • Drag Extravaganza – A high-energy performance by local queen Yuka Liptis

  • Vintage Pop-Ups – Shop ‘70s-inspired fashion with The Black Citizen’s Brigade and SCHNELLMODE Designs

  • Retro Photo Lounge – Snap your look in style, thanks to the Syracuse Antiques Exchange

  • Cash Bar by The Communion and Soulful bites from Louise Café – Drinks as groovy as your outfit, and food to fuel up for dancing

  • Dancing Under the Mirror Ball – Because no disco night is complete without it!

At the Door: $30 General | $24 Members

Costumes encouraged – bring your best bell bottoms, sequins, and platform shoes. Let’s bring that Studio 54 energy to downtown Syracuse!

This is your moment to celebrate the music, the movement, and the people who turned the beat around. We’ll see you on the dance floor.
